Meet Zara

Zara is a sweet, gentle 5 year old mini bully weighing around 35 lbs who has overcome more than any dog should have to. She was found as a stray on someone’s porch in the blazing summer heat, starving, thirsty, and exhausted. After being shooed away, Zara returned desperately needing help, but animal control was called instead. Despite the neglect she had endured, shelter staff described her as the sweetest girl. Maggie Lu’s Safe Haven Rescue saved Zara just before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Since then, this little trooper has undergone eye surgery and surgery to remove a mast cell tumor—and through it all, she has remained incredibly gentle, affectionate, and trusting. ❤️ Zara is dog friendly, wonderful with people of all ages – including babies, crate and potty trained, spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines. She loves snuggling on the couch, lounging in the sunshine, and simply being near her people. Zara is still building her confidence and needs a patient, loving family to show her that she is finally safe. After everything Zara has survived, it’s time for her final chapter: forever home. 🏡❤️
